This club was founded in 1946. present members are comprised of amateurs, professionals and everything in between.

The Flint Lensmen Camera Club meets on the 2nd & 4th Thursdays of each month September through May, unless otherwise announced. Occasionlly we meet at other times for field trips, lessons, get-togethers, etc. Our regular meetings are held at the Flint Farmers Market located at 300 E. First Street in downtown Flint. We meet from 6:30 - 8:30pm.

*Note: if the weather is bad, check the radio and/or TV for school closings. We will not have a meeting if schools are closed.

The summer was good. Several club members volunteered to take photos during the Crim Races. They can be viewed on the Crim Facebook sight.

This month our subject was Still Life. We had some very good photos. Please see the slide show above. 

Our next meeting November 2nd will be at the Flint Public Library (126 E Kearsley St. Flint 48503). We will be going over different editing technics. Everyone is welcome, members or not. The start time is 6:00pm, due to the library closes at 8:00pm.                                          The annual Christmas Party is scheduled for December 7th. More information will be available at the meetings.

Meetings will resume at the Farmers Market in January 2018.

Only paid members of the club can post photos.
Annual dues are only $30.00

Lensmen Meetings

Our regular meetings are at the Flint Farmers Market in downtown Flint.  We meet from 6:30 - 8:30 pm., September through May, on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month, unless otherwise announced.  The Farmers Market is located at 300 E. First Street, and parking is in the parking lot at the corner of E. Second Street and Stevens Street.  The door to use is at the top of the ramp located at the truck dock in the south east corner (it is not one of the four public entrances). The north stairway entrance is also available for entry. 

**Note:  due to security issues the door will be locked shortly after 6:30 pm, so you must be there by then if you plan to attend a meeting.


Everyone is welcome, from amateur to professional, and you do not have to be a member to attend.

Competition Subjects

Competition subjects for the 2017-18 year.

  • September:--Architecture
  • October:    --Still Life
  • November:--Reflections
  • December:--Motion
  • January:    --Close Up
  • February:  --Wet
  • March:      --Abandoned
  • April:        --Abstract
  • May:         --Portrait

Competition Criteria: You can enter up to 2 photos in each  category:  

   Open, Subject, Nature, Modified & [Monochrome (black & white)].

For a total of TEN photos. Any 'altered' photos should be entered in the Open or Modified categories.


We have toned down the competition to more of a relaxed learning experience.  Members are ask to bring their photos on a thumb drive to the 2nd meeting of the month (4th Thurs), they are loaded to the club laptop for viewing. Photos need to be grouped together by categories for ease of loading to computer. Each member is encouraged to elaborate on there photos but not required ( what inspired them to take the photo, where, when & how, any special editing or procedures used to take the photo). They can ask other members for tips on improving their photos as well.
