As mentioned in the Welcome column to the left we meet at Faith Lutheran Church in Grand Blanc,12534 Holly Rd.
We have adding a new category to the competition list. (Cell Phone).
The club started an Instagram page last spring. (Looking for a member to take charge of this.) The HUB will connect to this page and would like us to post photos of Flint and activities in Flint and surrounding area that they can then post on there page. They are looking for photos that make a connection with Flint and greater Flint area. In need of a member to take charge of this.
We have added new members to the club since fall. I would like to welcome them all, and hope that they will be able to learn and grow with all of our members.
Last Month members did a few field trips taking train photos of the North Pole express and the Santa Express, out of Owosso. And a few trips to Cross Roads Village and the Cummings Center to photograph both of the Crossroad trains From the early 1900's. All the trips were a great success and members took some stunning photos of the trains.
Will be scheduling a field trip to the Steam Engine Society in Owosso Early Spring. Will take a tour of the yard, Engines and round table for Photo oppertunities. Hope all members can attend. Also will be going to the Detroit Model Railroad Club again this year in March to take photos of their members and trains. Will be as much fun as the many past trips. This will also allow for the club to do some learning experience on several post editing programs.
Members feel free to utilize the website. Non-members can visit and contact us through the website address in the contact section to the right. You do not need to be an annual paying member to attend meetings. All are welcome. Though you will need to be a paid member to utilize the website.

We meet from 6:30 - 8:30 pm., September through May, on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month, unless otherwise announced.
Everyone is welcome, from amateur to professional, and you do not need to be a member to attend.
Competition Criteria: You can enter photos in each category:
Open, Subject, Nature, Modified, [Monochrome (black & white)], exhibition & cell phone
Any 'altered' photos should be entered in the Open or Modified categories. This does not mean normal post editing like exposure, contrast, shadow, highlight, tone, misc. This would be photos that are comprised of more than one or merged items, or extremely altered.
We no longer have a monthly competition. It is more of a relaxed learning experience. It allows members to see the creativeness of other members and to question and learn new Technics and methods of taking as well as editing their own photos. Members are ask to bring their photos on a thumb drive to the 2nd meeting of the month (4th Thurs), they are loaded to the club laptop for viewing. Photos need to be grouped together by categories for ease of loading to computer. Each member is encouraged to elaborate on their photos but not required ( what inspired them to take the photo, where, when & how, any special editing or procedures used to take the photo). And ask for or share tips for improving their photos as well.
