The Flint Lensmen Camera Club

Everybody Welcome. Come join the activities, field trips, competitions

This club was founded in 1946. present members are comprised of amateurs, professionals and everything in between.

The Flint Lensmen Camera Club meets on the 2nd & 4th Thursdays of each month September through May, unless otherwise announced. Occasionlly we meet at other times for field trips, lessons, get-togethers, etc. Our regular meetings are held at Armstrong Middle School located at 6161 Hopkins Road in Flint. We meet from 6:30 - 8:30pm.

*Note: if the weather is bad, check the radio and/or TV for school closings. We will not have a meeting if schools are closed.

Regular club activities have resumed through May 2014. Members feel free to utilize the website. Non-members can visit and contact us through the website.
But only paid members of the club can post photos.

Lensmen Newsletter -- April 2014


April 10

For the activity tonight Bob Harvey will be demonstrating how to do various things using a photo editing program and answering questions.


April 24

Tonight is our regular monthly competition and the subject is "Traffic".
Digital entries must be emailed to Roger at least 3 days before the Competition meeting to be received no later than Sunday night.
If you are entering prints, they must be mounted with your name, print's title and category on the back.
The Exhibition category is for anyone that has a print and/or digital image that they would like to share. The image does not have to be your own and it will not go through our regular competition judging and critiquing. Prints do not have to be mounted, or they can be mounted, matted and/or framed. Digital images that are emailed to Roger ( ) should be resized first to Competition criteria and have an X_ (X underscore) added to the beginning of the title. You can also bring digital images on a Jump/Flash drive or CD to the meeting.

***Photographers' Opportunities: Four of our members participated in the Crim Run Your Ice Off on Saturday, February 22. Photos that were taken by the group can be seen at this link:
All of our members will have a chance to participate as photographers of the Crim festival of races August 22 and 23 and at four other Crim events throughout the year. Mark May 17 on your calendars for the 10 mile Crim fun bike outing.

Competition Subjects


September :   Water
October :       Flowers

Print competition criteria: You can enter up to two prints in each of the following three categories in the Color Division: Open, Subject, Nature; and up to two prints in the same three categories in the Monochrome (black & white) Division for a possible total of twelve prints. Any 'manipulated' photos should be entered in the Open category.
Prints should be mounted using the following sized mount boards only: 5x7, 8x10, 11x14 or 16x20. They can be matted, but not framed.
There can not be any identifying name, etc visible on the front of the entry - all maker's info goes on the back.
